Fixed a common error encountered on Samsung Ativ S
I have received several error reports for the Samsung Ativ S (GT-I8750) (and probably other phones that support camera resolutions lower than 640 x 480). The error shows up when you try to launch the settings screen. I included a more detailed error reporting in the latest release (2.0.4.0) and received an error report this morning which helped me figure out the exact cause of the issue (A big thank you to the user who sent me the error report!). I have submitted a fix and so you can expect to see a fix (version 2.0.5.0) as soon as the changes are certified (5 business days). |
Coming up... Saved Image management
The next version (2.0.4.0) of Dual Cam Photo has a "Saved Image" management screen where you can manage the originals saved in the app. Estimated release date: April 26, 2013. With this version, DCP will not try to recreate images that it finds missing on the camera roll. The "Saved Images" management screen can be launched from the Image Viewer's App Bar (in the additional menu items under "...") |
Image delete
In the current version, if you have not deleted the original, but delete the DCP image from the camera roll, then DCP creates a Camera Roll Image if it is missing. My thought was that originals are precious and you would like to have a way to get to the original (which is by re-creating a missing camera roll image). Well... I can see the feedback and understand that users feel this is annoying. I'll fix the way DCP handles missing camera roll images in a future release. For now, till that update gets published, to "really" delete a photo, you can delete the "original" from the Image Mode Editor Screen and then delete it from the Camera Roll. I apologize for any inconvenience and annoyance this "feature" has caused. |
Dual Cam Photo Lens version is published!
I am happy to see the lens version published!
Reviewers can see some of their awesome suggestions implemented: Lens app, being able to get rid of the second capture delay easily, the settings screen lets you select a non-auto default merge mode (Always Picture In Picture or always Side By Side).
And I hope you like the "Post Edit" feature... where you can change the Merge Mode any time after the capture!
Please email your suggestions to support@camsaw.com or update your reviews.I love reading the feedback and improving your Dual Cam experience!
Some minor changes that you will see soon in the next update:
Launch this CamSaw news site only if you click on the button in the help page to avoid using any data from the app till you want to.
Fixed the behavior of Merge Mode Edit when the app is launched for editing photos (takes you back to the new photo after Merge Mode Edit)

Fixed Blurred Photo issues
I saw a few comments about blurred images, so I did some testing... I re-discovered that we can get better pictures on Nokia phones if the "Auto Focus Range" setting is set to "Normal". So, if your rear camera images are blurred, try changing this setting and see if that makes a difference. Also, if your phone supports it, then set "Focus Before Capture" to true. |
Thank you for the feedback and reviews!
Thank you very much for using the app and taking the time to rate the app and provide your feedback. We are working on your suggestions and you will soon start seeing some of these updates:
